Like most young boys, I loved monsters, barbarians, and super-heroes. I'd spend many hours drawing them. As my love for art grew, so did my love for working out. Back in the early 90's I worked at a 24 hour gym. I'd spend the earliest hours of the morning drawing because very few people trained from midnight to 5 am. It was then that I had an idea for a clothing line that simply wouldn't look like all the others. At that time neon colors, hideous patterns, and puffy socks were standard bodybuilding apparel. As the years went by and the line slowly developed (in my head), so did the purpose behind the line. It wasn't til 1998 that IA really started to evolve. I wanted a line that could help motivate and inspire others. True, the line originated in the gym. And yes, it's roots are deeply inbedded in the bodybuilding subculture, but there is much more to IA than just bodybuilding. IA can and will continue to grow into a line that support anyone who trains hard for ANYTHING.
Thanks for supporting IRON ASYLUM.
